RIBBONS AND ROMANCE

- Pretty things and scary things - My writing: lilithcamefirst.blogpsot.com.au - My art: lilithcamefirst.tumblr.com -

In class this morning two cishet white girls tried to argue that both men’s rights activism and “reverse racism” is a thing. Direct quotes:

“Nowadays the world is so biased against men… women can’t do anything wrong. I look forward to the day when a man stands up and says, ‘No. This is sexism!’”

“If a white girl from this school was on a train in her school uniform and she got beat up by a bunch of Aboriginal kids, is that not racism?”

I explained. I really did. And I know that some of it got through to at least one other girl in my class. Anyone have suggestions to articles I can link them?

Herman Nitch. so awful and repulsive that i refuse to post anything on him . feel disgusted, and completely repulsed by his work.

Oh. I really like his work and find a lot of meaning it. I think I also like the immaturity of his outrageous, explosive performances.

I made myself really nice chicken dumplings with lots of ginger in coconutty broth because I am sick and it is very lovely, I love me.

So this is the first completely original piece I’ve ever put on Tumblr and that’s a bit nerve-wracking but regardless, this is a song inspired by the NBC series Hannibal, lyrics and melody by me. I really hope you enjoy it! xx

THE RAVENSTAG (inspired by “Hannibal”)

blue as night, the ravenstag was flying
as you plucked the hyde, the beast stood crying
was it ever not enough to torment enough, cried out the blood in the veins
of the ravenstag who told me your name

i’ve started dreaming the most peculiar pictures
the blacks and whites and colors are richer
did you feel it kind enough, yes kind enough to plant the seed in my brain
of the ravenstag whispering your name

vulgar fruit, it gleams like vulgar diamonds
a picture of my own designing
wish they’d said beware the signs, the meats and wines of the velvet joy and the pain
of the ravenstag when he calls my name

(bridge, bach aria medley)

come into my parlor says the spider
close my eyes, the space between heartbeats grows wider
maybe i’m not brave enough or sane enough to steady the knife of the gaze
of the ravenstag as it whispers my name

morning’s come and the ravenstag’s behind me
i’m a crimson stain and no wind can dry me
is an enemy enough to keep the love of a monster that swallows and maims
the same ravenstag who knows my name?

This is my zine. I like to think of it as a manifesta, but it is in no way a definite set of rules. These are ideas I have…

I think awkwardnesses is referring to your aggression. Anger and aggression is totally your right, but why do we have to tear each other apart? We’re all feminists and I’m pretty sure all of us develop what feminism means to us all the time, and we’re meant to be part of the same movement - can we be inclusive instead of aggressive? We’re all learning.

Aw Willow! It broke my heart to see her cry like that, but oh my god, what an amazing family of women here. Willow is so lovely, and Jada is an amazing mother and Adrienne an amazing grandmother. So wise.

I didn’t know how much I loved Willow Smith but I do and I am a stan.

gtfo Willow haters

This was a really nice dialogue.

here’s a plan let’s burn down every mcdonalds and replace them with public vegetable gardens

as long as we find employment for the folks working there (we don’t do anything for the rich fucks in charge. they can sit in the rubble and cry)
